Send Your “NO BUILD” Message to Local Electeds by Video

The widely unpopular Northern Turnpike Extension, a vestigae of the M-CORES toll roads that could bring new toll roads through rural Florida in Sumter, Citrus, Marion, and Levy Counties, will drain our state’s tax dollar coffers and inflict irreversible environmental harm. Your local electeds need to hear from you why you are opposed to the “Roads to Ruin” and why you want to see them support a “No Build” option.

Why do you oppose the roads to ruin?

Do you live in a community that is on the frontlines of the Northern Turnpike study area where the roads are proposed to be built? Let your local electeds know that you want them to support a “No Build” option.

We want to hear your story! We have made it easy!  

Here is the idea:  You record a short video and we will share it on our social media platforms.  We can work together to send a loud and clear message to local electeds that Floridians don’t want these toll roads! #NoBuild #SaveItDontPaveIt

Just follow these instructions:

  • Set your camera / phone to record in landscape orientation with minimal background noise. We recommend that your video be 30-60 seconds long.
  • Record and upload your story! 
    • Express why you don’t want to see Florida’s environment, quality of life, and the special places that matter to you destroyed by the roads to ruin 
    • Share why we need to repeal M-CORES and prioritize essential public services and programs amid the COVID-19 pandemic and Florida’s budget shortfalls
    • Use a  photogenic background! Do you have a special treasured place you want to see protected and not paved over? Record your video there to show legislators how they can help save the real Florida.
    • Be sure to demand that Florida legislators repeal M-CORES!
